Everytime a long weekend (or even a short one) is on the horizon, I have this list of projects that I want to accomplish. Usually it seems I give in to resting, relaxing, or plans get changed so very few if any of the planned projects see completion by Monday morning or in this case Tuesday morning. That is frustrating as well, isn’t it?? In our little corner of the world we finally had rain so there is an excuse for leaving the lawn mowing, gardening, washing windows, whatever for another day. So, let me see, in the house I could unpack some boxes from moving nearly 2 years ago, get a room ready for painting, generally clean, or do some laundry, but instead I took a short nap, now I am on the computer, then dishes need to be done and maybe get some food prepared for the week.
If I could just do whatever I wanted, I would kick back in my Donovan slippers (I have them on anyway) and it is perfect sewing weather. Many of these new cotton print fabrics found on www.flannels4baby.ecrater.com are inspirational. Many of the florals would be great idea prints or great in a 2 or three color quilt. I have always thought it would be great to make a quilt that is a larger print and make it in large vertical stripes or even horizontal stripes of various widths. I love the look of bias or diagonal stripes. That would make a very easy and quick quilt I think.
You know, that would work equally well in a baby quilt and use the flannels found on http://www.flannels4baby.com/print_flannels.htm. With the format we have on the prints page you can see the coordinates for several of the prints so it would make it easier to select your fabrics.
Does anyone else have a quick quilt idea you would like to share? Tell us about it.
Remember to wear your Donovan slippers when your are sewing, your feet will feel so good that you will forget about everything else you need to do. Oh, maybe that isn’t the best thing, but you do need to have comfortable footwear. Look at those beautiful colors we have at www.donovanslippers.com.
