These 100% Leather ballet style slip-on shoes/slippers are the creation of a very talented, inspired man who understands the amazing qualities of leather. My partner, Donovan, has had a dream for 25 years about this kind of footwear. I was able to add my experience in pattern making and basic sewing skills to create this soft, comfortable slipper.
I have always believed that you wear your own product if you expect someone else to want it, too. Well, I love my Donovan Slippers. I was fortunate at test the first pair and knew we had a product that was different from anything out there currently. I am a 50 plus woman and in my 20’s and 30’s would wear heels to walk to work, spend all day on my feet, walk home again, and maybe wear into the evening. Needless to say, now my feet hurt when I try to wear my heels and any really cute shoe. You know, we have gotten so we like loose, comfortable footwear. I have found that when my feet are sore, aching or pinched that putting on a pair of Donovan Slippers makes the pain go away. It is soothing to feel the 100% lambskin chamois on your feet. It is a totally different feeling from slippers, socks, or other footwear.
This is amazing to me, but the floors in my house are cool. We live in Montana so it can get really cold in the winter. If I wear a pair of socks, or a fleece slipper my feet stay cold. BUT, when I put on my Donovan Slippers my feet get warm.
The soft leather of Donovan Slippers molds to your foot without any elastic. Initially they may feel a little snug, but quickly they accomodate your foot and fit like a glove. They look nice on your foot, too. Our basic style is very simple and covers the foot so it will stay on. We created a 2 color style we named “Cait”. This has a little pizazz. The fit is the same, you just get a little added style.
We sew these 100% leather slippers right in the shop in Scobey, Montana. There is no kit, the pattern has been developed by us, we cut the leather and sew it entirely. We even give you a little cloth bag to slip in your purse, briefcase, or suitcase.
